Battle Scar & Our Use to be Puppy

Okay we had a real fun Saturday. I got up at 6:45 showered and got ready for the day. I had my house all cleaned by 11:00 and was going to go enjoy some sewing time but then I get a phone call from Spencer telling me I need to be ready because he was going to have to go to the doctors because he had cut his head & was bleeding pretty bad. Charlie and him went out shooting their guns and Spencer was shooting Charley's new 7mm well he had his head too close to the scope and went he shot it it kicked back and sliced his forehead open. So he ended up getting 6 stitches, and a tetnus shot (which hurt worse then the stitches). Anyways he will have a nice little scar which I'm sure he will be proud of. As you can see his puppy ain't much of a puppy anymore but he still such a sweetie. Hope everyone is doing great and I can't wait to see whoever is going to Idaho to see Bert's play. I am in need of a small break. Be happy and love ya'll. Shawna

Attention: Runners

I really need your help. In effort to try to become healthier (and lose the 15 lbs. that stress has put on me over the winter), I am ready to begin running again, except I really need to update my playlist. Do you have any suggestions for songs that would have a good, solid beat? I don't listen to the radio so I don't know what's out there. I'm picky about lyrics, they need to NOT have swearing, innuendoes or "sloppy" language in them, but other than that I'm open to suggestions. THANKS for helping me out.

MY CRAZY HUSBAND!!

SO LAST FRIDAY WE HAD TO BE UP AND GOING QUITE EARLY IN THE MORNING, WE HAD A LADY COMING OVER FOR OUR LAST ADOPTION INTERVIEW, WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY, CASH DID NOT WANT TO COOPERATE AND WE GOT UP A LITTLE LATER THAN PLANNED, SO THINGS WERE NOT GOING SMOOTHLY. WELL I USED A NEW BLADE IN MY RAZOR, SO I PRETTY MUCH BUTCHERED MY LEGS AND THEY WERE STINGING LIKE CRAZY, SO I ASKED MARTY TO PUT SOME LOTION ON THEM, WHILE I PUT ON MAKE-UP WITH ONE HAND AND BLOWED THE HAIR DRY WITH THE OTHER. WELL THE DAY WENT ON AS USUAL, UNTIL ABOUT 3P.M., I WAS IN WALMART AND THE BACK OF MY LEG WAS JUST BURNING, I PULLED UP MY JEANS AND THEIR WAS LITTLE SCRATCHES ALL OVER IT, IT LOOKED LIKE A MOUSE HAD RUN UP MY PANT LEG!! YIKES!!! WELL WE WENT HOME AND I JUST KINDA GOT BUSY, ALTHOUGH IT KEPT ON STINGING, LATER THAT NIGHT WE WENT BOWLING WITH THE CAMPBELL'S AND MY LEGS REALLY STARTED HURTING. BY THE TIME WE GOT HOME IT WAS AFTER 11P.M. AND I WAS NOT FEELING REALLY SWELL, I TOOK MY PANTS OFF AND WOW, I WAS COVERED IN HIVES!! DUMB ME THOUGHT OKAY LET'S TAKE A NICE WARM BATH, BIG MISTAKE!!! I GOT OUT OF THE TUB AND IT WAS EVEN WORSE, SO I CALLED MARTY IN AND ASKED HIM WHAT EXACTLY DID HE USE ON ME, WELL TO MY WONDERFUL AMAZEMENT HA-HA, HE HAD PUT HAND SOAP FROM BATH AND BODY WORKS ON ME, THINKING IT WAS LOTION!!!! I TOOK A BENADRYLL AND BUY CHURCH THE NEXT DAY I LOOKED BETTER, BUT I STILL WORE KNEE HIGHS IN CASE I GOT ITCHY!!! WHAT A CRAZY MAN, BUT I DO LOVE HIM FOR HIS WILLINGNESS!! HAVE A GREAT DAY!! FYI there is a really, really amazing book and DVD about Christ's life that our YW used in their Young Women in Excellence this last year. The book is filled with life portraits depicting the different events of His life and the photography is astounding. The publishers also put the book into DVD form with the most beautiful music sung by Freddie Ashby. Both are entitled "Reflections of Christ" by Mark Mabry.

Lizards and Crickets

I blogged this on my site, but Mom asked if I would post it here for ya'll:

Here's proof that we talk often of our extended family to our children (it's all good talk. We want them to think that their "family tree" is made up of angels)...

We were talking today at breakfast about which pets we would all like to own. Ben suddenly claims that he is "allergic" to dogs, (?), therefore he wants a kitten. Aaron wants to have a pet giraffe. He thinks they would be great because they are so quiet, unlike the donkey that lives down the street. Spencer rattled off a list of pets ranging from lizards to snakes to elephants to myna birds and everything in between. We were able to convince him that elephants were too big, myna birds (or any bird for that matter) belong outside and they would drive us crazy with their constant tweeting inside. Turtles spread salmonella and snakes were definitely, under no circumstances allowed in our home unless he were to go out and catch one with his bare hands, all alone (yeah, like that'll ever really happen). I told him I wouldn't mind having a lizard and that I though it would be an okay pet to have. We talked about what it would take to care for a lizard, informing our children that lizards eat live crickets and they would either have to buy them or catch them. Aaron piped up and simply said, "No, Mom. Why don't we just feed them our Aunt Cricket?"

JACK ANDI CAME HOME TO WASH SOME CLOTHES TODAY (SUN) AND GOOD THING WE DID . OUR FLOOR IN THE KITCHEN WAS TOTALLY WATERED DOWN IN ANOTHER PLACE.
ONE OF THE 14 HUMITIFIERS THAT ARE HERE TO HELP WAS DRAINING WATER OUT ALL OVER. AMAZING THAT WE CAME HOME. WE CALLED THE RESTORATION GUYS AND ARE WAITING FOR THEM NOW. CAN LIFE REALLY GET MORE COMPLICATED
NOT GOING TO ASK THAT QUESTION TO THE GUY ABOVE.
IT STINKS LIKE STANDING WATER
WE HAVE ALONG TIME BEFORE WE CAN MOVE BACK . MOTELS ARE NOT THAT FUN.
JACK HAS TO LEAVE TOMARROW (MON) FOR IDAHO AND I'M NOT SURE HOW I CAN HANDLE EVERYTHING ! YES I'M VERY STRESSED OUT AND DEALING WITH ALOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS RIGHT NOW IN MY LIFE.

THE HOUSE IS A DISASTER AND MY SEWING MACHINE IS WAITING FOR ME TO COME TO IT. BUT THE LAST 4 DAYS I HAVE BEEN GLUED TO THE OFFICE CHAIR GETTING THINGS DONE ON THE COMPUTER AND FOR THE FARM. I DID GET A NEW CELL PHONE. MY NUMBER IS 208-670-4015. I DO NOT HAVE ANYONES NUMBERS IN IT SO THAT IS WHY I HAVE NOT CALLED ANYONE. BRITTNEY WILL HAVE TO DO THIS FOR ME. YES ABOUT MY LITTLE BRITTNEY. I CALL HER PICKY BRITTNEY NOW. I AM SO GLAD EVERYTHING WORK OUT GREAT. SHE GAVE ME A SCARE AND IT WAS AWFUL NOT BEING THERE FOR HER. I HAVE GREAT DAUGHTERS AND DAUGHTER IN LAWS. THEY WERE THERE TO MEET HER WHEN SHE ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL. HER PLAY IS ON THE 5TH, 6TH AND 7TH OF MARCH. THEY START AT 7:00 EACH NIGHT AND ON SATURDAY THERE IS ALSO A MATINEE AT 1:00. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANYONE COME DOWN AND STAY AND COME TO THE PLAY. SHE IS DORCUS AND HAS HAD A LOT OF FUN. I AM UP FOR A GET TOGETHER ALSO. SORRY THIS IS SO LONG. I WILL CLOSE NOW. What Kind of Razor Do you Use?

Okay here is my question for the week. Inspired by Vicky's shaving tip. What kind of razor does everyone use and why do you like it? I really must get me one because I think Sam and the boys are getting tired of me using theirs. I know I am bad! So let me know and I will make myself a purchase this weekend. So, I'm a freak about shaving my legs everyday. I love the feel and hate pricklies. Cherise's blog about creme rinse reminded me about a trick I learned. Creme rinse works wonders when you shave your legs, it's less expensive and smells good to. Give it a try. My helpful hint for the month.

RGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I CALLED JACK AND HE CAME HOME FROM BURLEY AND THE INSURANCE PEOPLE AND WATER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HERE ALL AFTERNOON AND THE PLUMBER IS HERE NOW. (THANKS TO CORY FOR SPENDING TIME WITH ME TODAY ) I LOVE YOU SON.
WE HAVE TO HAVE OUR WATER SHUT OFF FOR ???? GO TO A MOTEL FOR ???? (BUT JACK LIVES IN MOTELS.) NOT FUN FOR HIM.
THEN ALL HAS TO BE DRIED OUT. AND THE FLOOR BOARDS ETC REPLACED. WE CANT HAVE THE SAME WOOD FLOOR BECAUSE WE BOUGHT THIS ON A SPECIAL BUY AND I LOVED THAT IT WAS WIDE PLANK. Happy Valentine's Day everyone..early, but I wanted to day I love you all. It's snowing like crazy here-again. How I wish spring would come and warm the bones and buns. So my latest two addictions are mango peach Fuze-a yummy drink and the bottles are great to get honey in and I've been roaming the valley snapping photos of old barns and fences and I'm having a blast. They are treasures from time and I wish I had histories from all of them. We are great...seeing Cherise and Kim was fun, though short. I loved being with my baby boy-ok, so he's 25. It was good to see him. We need a party or something...with just girls again. All of you take care and have a fun week. Love, Vic

YES THIS IS IT MY PICK I SWALLOWED i was very shocked i actually did this i was so panicking when i figured out what i really did and it hurt soooo bad it was the worse feelin in the world by i did it and 5 hours in the hospital with char and joycie and my group of friends waiting for me and apprently we found out iam a very funny when iam all drugged and when i went back to school i am now forever called PICK GIRL!! lol it was great!

You Swallowed a guitar pic??????

That is the exact question I asked my cute little sister Brittney on Wednesday night! I had mutual that night Jocelyn came and helped me do hair for the girls, when we walked inthe door I heard Jeff say you are going to have to talk to Char about that, he hannded me the phone and it was Brittney's friend telling me that Brit had swallowed a guitar pic at the Burley Minico game (go spartens!!!) and the ambulance is coming to take her to the hospital, I then questioned the friend and told her if this was a joke then she was in deep trouble, anyway we then knew she was telling the truth so Jocelyn and I jumped in the car and drove way faster then we will ever admit, we beat the ambulance and it was at the Burley High School! So she finally got there and we went back to see her, she was sitting up in the chair smileing when we walked in she said I am so stupid I swallowed a guitar pic, hmmm stupid huh? We had to tease her or else I think she was going to cry, she was in a lot of pain as well, they made her drink this fizzy drink in hopes it i would go down to her stomach or she would puck it up, it did not work so we waited and waited forever finally they decided around midnight that they need to call a surgeon, I know it's crazy so we waited forever a gain for the surgical team to wake up and come, they had to put her asleep so we were waiting for like 6 different people to show up, then the surgeon calls and says she wants a cat scan, so we went for a cat scan, they sent it to salt lake to have it looked at and they said they could not see anything, so the surgeon looked at it and said the same thing, but not the good ole Doc, he called me out and took me to the exray screen to take a look, you could see a tiny curve ant the end of her esaphagous it was right where she was having the bad pains as well, so on for surgery we go, have I mentioned that my parents area out of town and it is just Jocelyn and I the 2 biggest whimps known to men but we were strong, so it is about 12:45 and they put you to sleep guy comes in, I cant spell that word, he told her all the bad things that could happed and got her so scared she was also on morephine so she finally quit talking a hundred miles a hour! So we waited it took 45 min. to get that thing out, and then recovery time, so finaly they brought her back she was still very sudated and just waking up, as saw her come in the room all be darn an orange gutar pic was sitting on her stomach! Jocelyn and I could not believe it, well the best part of the whole night was listening to brit come out of the medicine, she said the funniest stuff, she wnated to know where she was, why we were here, how long we had been here, where is Mom, I want to talk to Dad, to the best part, she asked the Doctor if he had seen her underware, and the very funniest part she looked at Jocelyn and said what the .... am I wearing, she did not remember putting on the hospital gown!!!! So I am really glad she is okay, I never thought I would have to go the hospital with my 16 year old sister because she choked on a guitar pic, so I know you are all wondering why the heck she had it in her mouth, we asked her and she said, when you are in our group that is what you do, oh thanks for explaining silly girl, her boyfrien was playin in band she put it in her mouth and then they made a basket adn she said whoo hooo and sucked it down!!!!!! Luv ya BERT!

Great Week

Hi Everyone, It's been a great week. Spencer has pretty much got his puppy Titan, potty trained and he is sleeping through the night. Infact he slept for 10 hours last night, Spencer was thrilled. Titan starts puppy training classes this week that Sam & I get to take him to because Spencer has a class. This puppy is so dang smart and very loveable. Learned this week that we should be grateful that the Lord trusts us with the trials we are given, this brought great comfort to Sam and I. Life is good.
