Stress Free-right

So the the two weeks of stress are over and I'm still running around like a crazy woman. I did get all my kids packages mailed...the post office can retire on what we spend on shipping each year..dang kids, they live to far away. We got about 6 inches of heavy new snow yesterday morning, it's dazzling outside....like millions of silver glitter jars have been dumped on our yard. And the sun is shining so the brilliance is amazing.
We are good, can't wait to see you at the wedding, hoping to somehow get Blake from Boise to Burley and then work out getting him home, without bringing both of our cars up...he needs a vehicle. Have a fun rest of the week. Love, Vic

WINTER WONDERLAND

HERES TO A WONDERFUL WINTER TO ALL. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR. IT BRINGS SUCH JOYFUL MEMORIES TO ME OF MY CHILDHOOD. THE FLANNELS, THE LIGHTS, THE SMELL OF THE CHIMNEYS BURNING, THE GLASS ORNAMENTS SHINING ON THE FRESH CUT TREE. THE SMELL OF OUR HOUSE. IT ALWAYS HAD A FRAGRANCE OF CHRISTMAS. I CAN REMEMBER DAD READING THE CHRISTMAS STORY TO US FOR FAMILY HOME EVENING. THE LAUGHTER AND JOY THAT CHRISTMAS BRINGS. IT AMAZES ME HOW BLESSED WE ARE. WE ARE HAVING A FUND RAISER FOR A YOUNG COUPLE THAT HER HUSBAND WAS DIGNOSESD WITH MELENOMA 4 CANCER. HE JUST HAD THREE TUMORS REMOVED FROM HIS BRAIN. THE KIDS ARE BRINGING THERE CHANGE AND CANNED FOODS TO PRESENT TO THEM FOR CHRISTMAS. YES WE ARE SO VERY BLESSED. THIS HAS BEEN A TRYING YEAR FOR THE HOWELL FAMILY BUT WE HAVE A WARM HOME, FOOD AND EACH OTHER. I MISS MY CHILDREN SO MUCH IT HURTS. THERE ARE DAYS WHEN I JUST WANT TO SIT DOWN AND NOT GET BACK UP I MISS MY GIRLS VOICES AND GRANDSONS LAUGHTER. SOMEDAY I PRAY WE WILL BE A FAMILY. TAKE THE TIME TO LOVE EACH OTHER AND TO LISTEN TO EACH OTHER. REMOVE THE BITTERNESS AND KEEP PRAYING.

Happy Turkey Day

Hey family,
Hope everyone is doing well and ready for turkey. It has been a wild six weeks and won't end until December 24th. Good thing I thrive on busy. We are good. We love Al's new schedule, it's nice to have him here at night. It was a trial having him gone so much...so that is my best blessing this year. Just a heads up if anyone wants to come , our center craft fair is Dec. 3rd and 4th. We have ALL new items and some really fun gifts and ideas.

News Flash from the East!

Hey family,

I love to get on in my few spare seconds and see how all of you are. Thanks for sharing! I thought how selfish of me to intrude but not share so I'll try harder to give you tidbits in case any of you care to read!

Kaobe is busy with piano, soccer, getting A's in school, and drums as well as texting with his friends. He is approaching his 12th birthday and is quite the little man. Ada is a social butterfly and is constantly going to sleepovers or having friends over. She started violin this year and so far so good. She is doing really well in school as well and refuses to cut her hair which is almost to the top of her buttocks when pulled straight! The only problem is that she is VERY sassy. Any advice??

Indy is our developing artist, constantly with pen and paper and lately taken to markers as well. She is excited to start piano and dance soon. She loves to run and jump but refuses to go to soccer. I think she'll be my basketball player! Leiah is home with mom and dad and a sitter and is getting a bit spoiled I must say. She has worn kitty ears for about 3 weeks straight now with no end in sight. She is everybody's buddy and loves to play with all her pet puppies as well as her real puppy Dexter. Dexter is a poodle mixed with something??(terrier? cocker spaniel?) We rescued him in August and he has fit in like a glove. We all are smitten and have enjoyed having a new baby to baby! Obeta is busy as ever. He was in Florida all last week for meetings but is still enjoying his job with Darden. He has friends and family visit every so often which he thrives over. He is still busy with his Peal Starch business and is ever thinking up new ideas.

Life is too super busy so I'm trying to cut back to 30 hours in the next few weeks and hoping that will help. The kids are adjusting amazingly to a working mom but it's tough on Obeta having to pick up the slack. I enjoy working in dialysis but am not ready to stick yet-I need to try out lots of things first! I think about all of you and love to read about your going ons! Good luck to Trish and her impending births and I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

IS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE FREEZING??? I DON'T GET IT, I AM GOING THRU THE BIG M. WORD, I HAVE HOT FLASHES ALL NIGHT LONG AND I FREEZE DURING THE DAY!! I HAVE THREE SHIRTS ON, ONE OF THEM A SWEATSHIRT TODAY AND I KEEP CRANKING UP THE HEAT!! MAYBE IT JUST COMES WITH OLD AGE OR SOMETHING. WE ARE DOING GREAT, CASH IS FULL OF IT, HE IS INTO THAT STAGE OF TEASING AND I AM ABOUT CLIMBING THE WALLS WITH HIM. HE LOVES HIS ABC'S AND HIS MAGNETS ARE HIS BEST FRIENDS. CHEVY GOT A GOOD REPORT AT THE DOCTOR'S, NO SURGERY FOR NOW, JUST A BIG UGLY BRACE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE YIKES. HE IS DOING AWESOME IN SCHOOL AND IS SUCH A BIG HELP TO ME. CHEROKEE IS BUSY WITH SCHOOL AND GOT A 3.8 THIS TERM, PRETTY DANG GOOD CONSIDERING THAT HER CLASSES ARE HARD AS HECK, SHE SENT TRAVIS OFF ON HIS MISSION SO SHE HAS BEEN A LITTLE BLUE, BUT WE ARE THANKFUL THAT HE IS SUCH A AWESOME KID AND SHE WILL JUST HAVE TO KEEP EXTRA BUSY FOR TWO YEARS. MARTY JUST GOT BACK FROM CALIFORNIA LAST NIGHT, I SOMETIMES WONDER IF LIFE WILL EVER SLOW DOWN ENOUGH TO SEE EACH OTHER. I HAVE BEEN CRAFTING LOTS FOR CHRISTMAS AND HELPING A FRIEND DO CRAFTS, IT KEEPS ME BUSY AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR GOOD FRIENDS. THE YEAR HAS WENT BY FAST! WE DID GET TRISH MOVED TO BOISE. SHE HAS A GREAT APARTMENT AND THE CUTEST LITTLE BABY ROOM. (ORANGE, GREEN, WHITE, GREY) IMAGINE THAT!!!!! SHE IS DOING GREAT. THE BABYS DROPPED AND SHE HAS A APPOINTMENT THIS WEDNESDAY. HEY WENDY I NEED YOUR PHONE NUMBER. THE ONE I HAVE IS NOT IN SERVICE. I WAS WONDERING IF SOMETIME YOU CAN COME AND HELP BRITTNEY AND I PUT HER TABLE CENTER PIECES TOGETHER. WE HAVE ALL THE STUFF. ALSO I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO THOSE RINGS. What a Day!

It's been a good and busy day. Started out with my exercises, then my bowl of oatmeal which I can actually gag down now, then I stripped some wallpaper in my kitchen not fun at all, then I bake snickerdoodlers, rice krispy treats and peanut butter,corn flake no bake cookies for my two guys, got their packages mailed, laundry,played with Titan, made dinner, then went Christmas ornament shopping, I am decorating my trees in red, white and blue for the guys and it was fun to find bulbs,ribbon, some ornaments but I am now looking for some small flags to put on it, came home skyped with Sam for an hour and now I am so ready for bed. HAPPY HALLOWEEN....I'll be flying on my broomstick this week...so keep your heads down low. I tried a wonderful pumpkin cheesecake recipe today...can't wait to make some and have some hot cider. As much as I hate winter, I do love the fall. The trees around us are gorgeous and I picked the last of my roses on Wednesday. I sure wish my grandkids could come and trick or treat me. Wow, it's been awhile since I've even checked this blog. I love the new looks everyone has. I'm excited to see all who can come next week . As always, it will be wild and crazy. For those who want to do the Haiti walk, it's in Wellsville, we register at 8:00 and the walk is at 9:00. I have to work for 3 hours that afternoon, but feel free to hang out here or whatever. Seagull Book has some great conference sales going on, with drawings etc. that day. Hope all is well with you. Love that we have a marriage to look forward to and a new baby in the family. Update

They were not able to lifeflight him at the time I posted last. His heart completely stopped 3 different times and he slipped into critical condition. Finally, around 3:00 this morning he slipped into a coma and stablized enough that they were able to put him on the helicopter and get him to the hospital in Murray. He is in the ICU in extremely critical condition right now. As far as the coma goes, that is actually a good sign. It means his body is stablizing itself somewhat. I don't have info as to what machines he's hooked up to or anything. I haven't had an update since about 3:30 a.m. and even that one was extremely etchy, so I'll keep you in tabs.

Cory

Here's an update on Cory. His surgery ended up lasting 15 hrs. They were able to finish it all in one day and give him a 30% curve to his back, with new rods every inch or two, which is almost what they were hoping for. He did lose a lot of blood (6 pts.) during the process. They are extremely concerned about this and have recycled his blood back into his system as well as given him several transfusions. They got him into ICU to recover when his heart stopped beating completely. The staff there was able to get it pumping again after a few very long minutes, but found that his blood is having some weird, acidic reaction so they are right now in the process of lifeflighting him to a hospital in Murray. Mom and Dad are in the car driving there and will arrive there within the next hour or so. They have both requested that no one contact them, so they can keep the phone lines open for emergency or any other updates they may have need of. I will keep you posted whenever I hear of some news. If you feel like you need further information, you can call me. Thanks for your support. For right now, please, please, please say a special prayer regarding him and his family.

Prayers and Fast for Cory & Trisha

Dear family:
We are having a special fast and prayer for Cory & Trisha this Sunday. He is going in for 2 extremely extensive surgeries on his back on Weds the 25th next week. Both lasting around 10 hours. He will be in the hospital for up to 14 days and in a upper body cast for months. This is being done because he can't stand up without going forward, because he has no curve in his back, and it will help so he can bend and have mobility finally after so many years of pain. He has Flat Back Syndrome, you can look it up on the internet if you choose to read about it.

Operation Give

Paul Holton aka Chief Wiggles just so happens to be going to Iraq with Sam infact they are roommates right now in Washington. He is a great man. I met him at a barbeque and his wife I just met today at an Operation Give Humanitarian meeting. They do humanitarian service for mostly the Iraq children because they are the future leaders and change needs to start with them. I am excited about this project for many reasons here's a few: it helps the soldiers gain trust with the people, they will actually be the ones handing out the projects, it keeps the wives busy and a connection to their spouse because it is something that we both can talk about and work on together while we are apart, we will be making Christmas stocking for our soldiers and filling them with fun things, the Lord's hand has been in this project I know He has inspired Chief Holton and his wife, it truly is a missionary opportunity for these soldiers and last I just want to share with you a part of my Patriarchal Blessing-" during your life time you will be called to leadership where you will care for the widows and orphans" I fell like this might be the beginning of this promise. There are so many widows and orphans over in Iraq and I can't help to think that our Heavenly Father has sent Sam and Justin over there not only to protect our freedom but to help with this promise and be examples to these people. Sam has mentioned several times how he has felt the Lord's hand in this mission. Chief Holton says if we can win the hearts of these people we can do great things for them. I hope you will check out the website and then let me know if you are interested in helping. I am also meeting with our ward and stake humanitarian leaders. My summer favs

So Clar, here are some of my favs: Sonic Ice is a must for me goes well with diet coke or water. All the fresh fruit especially plums and cherries. Freezer meals love them, Heather and I have been getting together twice a month and cooking dinners for the month. Love just going to the freezer and grabbing something and popping it in the oven. My new swamp cooler,it works so well that Wendy called my house Alaska. Veggie chips are a new discovery. Clarissa, I Can't wait to try the chocolate cheerios! Grown Ups funny movie, Sam, Justin, Spencer and I went and we laughed through the whole movie. 5ks fun times except for the fall. And I have only 11 fast Sundays until the big homecoming!! HARLEY MAN

Today my dad walked 15 steps he told my mom it felt like he ran 20 miles but we are so glad they were able to get him up! i know he wants to come gome real bad but its just not time. i talked to the guy that was with him today and he told me so many little things that happened that truely were amazing. he has been blessed and we are so thankful for that. i hope tommorow will bring even more improvements!

Well Sam and Justin are both off on their new adventure in life. Sam left late Friday night and Justin left early Sunday morning. We are all ready for this to begin and get over with. They are both prepared and will do an amazing job serving our country.

Never Again!!

First we are praying for you Paul and Sam. Paul...as the eldest in the family you are officially grounded from fast moving vehicles. I''m thinking a tricylce or wagon would work. Nothing with a key or high speed. Seriously, hope yoiu heal fast. Shawna....keep tough, I know you'll all be ok. You can come and hang out any time.
We spent the day at Hyrum Dam yesterday. Right in our backyard is a great beach, who knew? So we took rafts and rented a paddle boat and we're having a great day. Then I got in a raft, got too far out and the waves took me quite aways from the buoys and since I can't swim and hate being in water over my ankles, I totally freaked out. My throat is raw from yelling for help. Surf paddled to the bouys and I told him to go and get help fast....he was a trooper. I prayed so hard I wouldn't tip adn sink. A rescue jet ski came and towed me in. No when I close my eyes all I can see is waves and the panic starts all over. Probably the most frightening time of my life. All I can say is the Lord was there and I won't be in deep water ever again.
Thanks to everyone for a fantastic reunion. We all had blast.

Harley guy

todAy has been full of ups and downs, thery discovered he had a bruised left lung that may of been some of the reasons for the breathing problems they have been giving him breathing treaments, they tried to get him up again but was'nt able to, he did'nt sleep much last night but he did get rest this afternoon he is fighting hard and we are all hoping for a better day tommorow mom got a good nap and sounds much better today. Jocelyn and bert are still there, they say dad just wants to come home! We are all praying for him and know you are to!

SO AS YOU MAY HAVE HEARD MY DAD DID GET IN A HARLEY ACCIDENT YESTERDAY EARLY AFTERNOON, HE WAS NEAR ST.GEORGE AND WAS TAKEN TO THE RICHFIELD HOSPITAL, RYAN TOOK MOM UP RIGHT AFTER IT HAPPEND. HE WAS WITH 3 GUYS AND WAS THE MIDDLE RIDER HE CAME AROUND I THINK WHAT WAS A SHRAP CORNER AND HE SIDE SWIPED AN RV, HE WAS THROWN 50 FEET IN THE AIR AND LANDED. HE HAS 6 BROKEN RIBS ON ONE SIDE AND 8 ON ANOTHER AND A FRACTURED BACK. HE IS VERY LUCKY THEY HAD TO TOW THE RV BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT FROM HIS HARLEY. MOM CALLED AN HOUR AGO HE HAD A TOUGH NIGHT AND THEY ARE TRYING TO GET HIM UP HE WAS'NT ABLE TO DO IT THIS MORNING AND THEY GAVE HIM ANOTHER PAIN PILL AND A SLEEP MEDICATION SO HE IS RESTING. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL HE IS GOING TO BE OKAY, WE ARE PRAYING FOR HIM AND MY MOM. THANKS FOR THE CALLS LOVE YA CHAR

WE HAD 75 PEOPLE COME FOR A HOWELL COUSIN REUNION ON MONDAY IT WAS GREAT ALOT OF COOKING AND CLEANING. THIS SATURDAY WE ARE CATERATING COWS, BRANDING, AND DEHORNING COME OUT IF YOU WANT A REAL EXPERIANCE!!! COOKING CHICKEN ENCHILDAS. NORM IS AS HAPPY AS A BEE AND I WILL BE TO ONCE WE ARE LIVING UNDER THE SAME ROOF, IT'S BEEN HARD BEING AWAY FROM HIM. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN APART FOR MORE THAN THREE DAYS. I THINK WE ARE STILL NEWLYWEDS!!

Wow can it really be June already?

We got sunshine today and I'm thrilled beyond words...my body is already feeling the pain of catching up yardwork after so much rain. Congrats to the Zippays-she's a doll. Love and best wishes to Sam the man and Shawna. We had a good ride and went to Foster Curtis grave in Newton-one of our traditions. His wife was Clarissa Anne-we found that out when our Clarissa was a child. Al and I have finally adjusted to be together again...man that was hard for awhile. We both got set in our ways and had to make a few changes. We don't get much time together, but at least he's here part of the night. We celebrate 38 years this week. Hi Everyone

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying some nice weather. It has been beautiful here. My flowers are looking gorgeous and I am looking forward to planting more this week. Yes Vicky I will be planting those daisies,thanks again. Well Sam got back from his training in Wyoming Tues.morning at 1:00am got to spend the day with me Tues and then headed out to Camp Williams on Wed. not feeling very well, for more training and lock down. Well he surprised me Thursday morning when he came home because he had been to the doctor's and had brochitis and the Colonel sent him home for three days. I was sad that he was sick but so happy to have him home. Okay it was fun spoiling him too. Thank goodness for Roxberry Smoothies. He is back out to Camp Williams until Friday and then we will see what happens. Justin goes into lock down at Camp Williams this Tuesday night and I am not for sure when I will see him again.It really sucks!!!! We are so ready for this deployment to begin so we can start counting down the days. Heather, Sydney and Spencer are doing great and keeping busy. Have a good Memorial Day and an awesome week. I think it will be lots of fun of course I won't be running it but walking at a fast pace instead. Then after we can enjoy Lavendar Days. bath and body works

okay i usually don't do this but I am boycotting bath and body works until they change their picture of the naked woman in their ad and on their store posters. I actually called and let them know I was not happy with it but hey why do we need to see that escpecially our young men and children. Infact the store manager at the University Mall is upset with it too and is trying to fight it too. Call me crazy hey being crazy it okay sometimes.
