Operation Give

First of all I would invite you to visit this web site: operationgive.com and then let me know if you would be interested in doing this as a family. Paul Holton aka Chief Wiggles just so happens to be going to Iraq with Sam infact they are roommates right now in Washington. He is a great man. I met him at a barbeque and his wife I just met today at an Operation Give Humanitarian meeting. They do humanitarian service for mostly the Iraq children because they are the future leaders and change needs to start with them. I am excited about this project for many reasons here's a few: it helps the soldiers gain trust with the people, they will actually be the ones handing out the projects, it keeps the wives busy and a connection to their spouse because it is something that we both can talk about and work on together while we are apart, we will be making Christmas stocking for our soldiers and filling them with fun things, the Lord's hand has been in this project I know He has inspired Chief Holton and his wife, it truly is a missionary opportunity for these soldiers and last I just want to share with you a part of my Patriarchal Blessing-" during your life time you will be called to leadership where you will care for the widows and orphans" I fell like this might be the beginning of this promise. There are so many widows and orphans over in Iraq and I can't help to think that our Heavenly Father has sent Sam and Justin over there not only to protect our freedom but to help with this promise and be examples to these people. Sam has mentioned several times how he has felt the Lord's hand in this mission. Chief Holton says if we can win the hearts of these people we can do great things for them. I hope you will check out the website and then let me know if you are interested in helping. I am also meeting with our ward and stake humanitarian leaders. I can know tell people what I am going to do while Sam is gone, it feels great. Love to you all, Shawna

P.S. I have 5 of the blossom bags that are on the website. If you are interested let me know, they are expensive. The money goes toward the shipping.
