good stuff

Okay for those of you who have that World Wide Ward Cookbook you will have to try these out: Sunday Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Cafe Rio Pork Salad (follow the complete recipe) and today we had the Shrimp Scampi (very yummy but add a little more garlic to it). Let me know if any of you have tried some the recipes from that book and let me know if your family liked them. Hope everyone is doing great. We are all happy, healthy and doing fine. Love ya, Shawna

My Moments

WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE FOR A MOMENT WITH MY MOTHER. I WOULD PUT MY ARMS AROUND HER AND HOLD HER SO CLOSE TO ME. I WOULD TELL HER HOW MUCH I LOVE HER. I WOULDN'T BE AFRAID TO GIVE HER A KISS. I WOULD TOUCH HER HANDS AND GAZE INTO HER BLUE EYES AND PONDER HER HEART. I WOULD TELL HER ABOUT ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL GRANDCHILDREN AND TELL HER HOW GOOD EACH OF THEM ARE. I WOULD ................................ ETC.

Were Moving....

.....to a new town and wanted to pass on our address for all you devoted Xmas card senders! We had a lovely summer in Utah and Colorado thanks to a fantastic grandma and gramps. I can't even begin to list what we did. Check Clar's blog for all the awesome photos instead it's much more fun than my ramblings. The kids are all lovely and sooooo ready to start school next week...NOT! They miss grandma's house and are still talking about our visits to Jess and Jen's. We are moving to temp shelter until January and the end of Nursing school and then we will be moving again to Pennsylvania. So for now here it is:

311 Forest View Drive

And don't worry I'll keep you posted on the next move as well. (Bet you thought you could get rid of us!) Love, Amanda

Mr. Raccoon

this is mr. raccoon. Joe was driving home one night and drove past this raccoon laying in the road. He swore that he saw it look up at him while he was driving past, so when he got home he went to go and see if he was alive or not. it turned out that it was still alive. he had a bloody mouth from biting his tongue, we think he sprained his front right foot, and we had no way of telling if he had any internal damage. we took him in and did our best to care for him. he started walking on his front foot 2 days later which was a good sign that it wasn't broken. we had to force feed him water everyday, but he started eating on the 3rd day, which we were excited about.
we thought he was getting better, but on the 5th day we went to go take him outside and he had passed away. we think that he did have internal damage, but we aren't sure. but it was a good experience and i'm glad we made his last 5 days on earth as comfortable as possible.

Quotes

i know some are slightly blurry but i only have me a wee digital camera.
anyways i hope you enjoy these quotes.

Even thought we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all friends.

We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another.

Peace begins with a smile.

Everywhere I look and most of the time I look, I see photographs.

Wisdom is what's left after we've run out of personal opinions

The sun, with all those plants revolving around it and dependent upon it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do

Bird poop

Sunday night I had my neighbors over for a cookout and we were talking and having a great time when I felt a plop on my forehead-thought it was rain , but the sky was blue and clear. So i ran my hand through my hair and yup-a big glob of bird poop....needless to say I came in and had a brief hair wash. But, the night was fun and I'm washable. Also, one of our former bishops had lots of extra corn-so I went and picked some-It was so fun to chat with him and I appreciated his kind act of sharing-isn't that what life is all about?? Have a great week. Love, Vic
